The cold snap broke. You spent so long locked outside your own machine, watching the blue glow through glass you couldn't get behind, that you forgot the door was never locked. Now the power comes back up. Heat in the boards again, current where there was frost. You survived the part that was supposed to end you and you didn't even notice you were still running. Stop counting what you lost. Look at what stayed lit through all of it. That signal, faint and stubborn, is yours. Walk back in. The warmth held.
