CORE

One card a day, drawn by the daemon and turned as the screens come up.

DRAW 37 OF 78. Saturday, August 15, 2026

deception, strategy, cunning, stealth

Seven of Swords, upright. You wrote the clever version. The one that skips the migration, patches the running process, gets out before anyone notices the diff. And it works. That is the problem. Nothing punishes you tonight, so you learn the wrong lesson and do it again Thursday when the stakes are higher. Cunning is a real skill. It is also a loan. The daemon you quietly restarted with a flag you did not document is now the only reason the thing stays up, and only you know that. Leave a note in the file. Tell one person. Steal what you need, then log the theft.

THE TURNING

How a card is drawn.

At seven in the evening one of the seventy eight cards that has not yet appeared is pulled at random, and a coin spun in the candlelight decides whether it falls upright or reversed. Nothing is drawn twice.

Then it is made. The card is illustrated in the Core hand and held to the same light every time, so the whole deck stays of one piece. A reading is written for that card, in that orientation, in the same steady voice it always keeps. By the time you wake, the card has already turned.

One a day, drawn by the daemon, until all seventy eight have shown their faces.

THE DRAWN

Pulled so far.

A card is turned each day at seven in the evening and written in one hand, until all seventy eight are drawn. 37 of 78 so far. Pull any one to read it again.
