Temperance
DAY 61 OF 78. Wednesday, September 9, 2026
Look at the vessel in your hands. You have been pouring for hours and the level has barely moved, and you thought that meant failure. It doesn't. It means the mixture is taking. Some things only combine at this temperature, in this dark, with no one watching but the specimens on their shelves and whatever has been sitting quietly at the foot of your bed since midnight. The teal wants to become the magenta. Let it take its time. You are not behind. You are steeping. Set the cup down. Sleep is part of the recipe. SAY> Your Temperance card came up upright, and the reading leans into patient alchemy. The slow pour isn't failure, it's the mixture taking. Nothing is behind schedule, it's steeping. The card closes by telling you to set the cup down, because sleep is part of the recipe.
Temperance, upright and reversed.
The reading above was written for this draw. These are the card's standing meanings, the ground it always carries.
The work is in the blending, the careful and unhurried moving of elements until something new emerges. You are in the middle of that process, not stuck; let it take the time it needs.
Something in the mix is off in a way that more of the same ingredient will not fix. Step back and look at the proportions with fresh eyes.
